Q. What Does the River Trip Cost Include?
A. Cost includes all equipment and guiding for the days listed for your canoe trip. All meals begin with the noon or evening meal depending on your first days departure time and end with lunch on the last day. Shuttle to and from the trip departure and return points.
Not Included: lodging before or after the expedition.

Q. How Much Experience Do I Need?
A. NONE!! We design each expedition for people with any level of experience. Most of our clients are canoeing or kayaking for the first time.

Q. Do I Need to Get in Shape for My Canoe Adventure?
A. Not necessarily, we let the river current do most of the work for us. The more relaxed person can drift, with minimal paddling; while the adventurous can paddle more aggressively, exploring more of the river. If you can walk two to three miles, then you can participate fully.

Q. When Do I Need to Be There?
A. You will need to attend an orientation meeting at 5:00 p.m. the evening prior to your departure date. The meeting takes place in Fort Benton, Montana.

Q. What Should I Bring?
A. Other than personal items and clothing, all you need to bring is a sleeping bag (or you can rent one from us). When you sign up, we will send you a informative handbook. It will include a detailed list of items and clothing you will need to bring.

Q. Where Will We Camp?
A. There are many magnificent options along the river corridor. We prefer camps with great views, privacy and potential for wild life viewing and hiking. The pace of the expedition and group interest add to create interesting alternatives.

Q. When Is the Best Time to Go?
A. Each season brings a new experience. Our schedule is set to enjoy the seasonal changes that Montana's rivers have to offer. Spring offers the rebirth of the river corridor with nesting birds, wild flowers, warm days and cool nights. Summer offers hotter days, warmer nights and privileged views of natures innocent children; like fledglings, fawns, late wild flowers. The long hot lazy days of late summer unfold the season of sun worshipers, star gazers and enchanting full moon nights. Fall brings a hush to the river. A quiet secure time of brilliant colors, gentle warmth and the presence of marvelous peace and tranquility. Before booking with us consult your calendar and contemplate your interests and pick a date that intrigues you.

Q. Is It Safe?
A. Your safety is our primary concern while you are with us. All guides are well trained to handle emergency situations. This is a "flat water" river with no rated rapids.

Q. What Are the People Like?
A. The lure of canoeing and kayaking a quiet river draws people with friendly adventurous spirits; you will find yourself in a group of people with common interests. Your traveling companions will be some of the most unique and interesting people to be found. The people that join us on expedition are active, involved people that are interesting, educated, resourceful and dynamic. The environment of our river expeditions is friendly and supportive. We encourage our adventurers to paddle the canoes and kayaks with different people each day. There is no reason to feel you cannot come alone. A good number of our guests are individual travelers.

Q. Is It to Difficult for Children?
A. The river's mild current does the majority of the work, so children from 4 and up can easily participate at the level of their own ability and interest. We provide special equipment and guidance for young children and teenagers, encouraging them to explore the river's magical environment. On the river they can experiment with new challenges that instill self-confidence and awaken awe and wonder.

Q. What if I Have a Special Diet?
A. We put great emphasis on our multi-course meals made up of cuisines from around the world. Our menu is exotic, and healthy, but not unbearably hot or spicy. We serve no freeze dried or canned food so you can be assured of superb meals on your river journey. Each meal will provide plenty of healthy delicious alternatives that allow for vegetarians, children, guests with a sweet tooth and the carnivorous appetite.

On each expedition we take coolers full of refreshing juice, fresh fruits, vegetables and meats to grill. A bounty of breads and cookies depart with each expedition. Seductive treats complementing our menu include fresh ground coffees, and luscious chocolates. We will do our best to accommodate any special dietary needs provided requests are received three weeks prior to your departure date.

Q. Will I Be Uncomfortable, Cold or Wet?
A. We believe in staying comfortable, warm and dry. We have an array of weather in Montana; but it is generally warm and pleasant. The daytime temperatures average in the 70's to the 90's. Following our recommended personal item list will ensure your comfort.

Q. How Much Time Do We Spend in the Boats?
A. Actual time in the boats depends on the expedition chosen. The average day is 6 hours on the river. Group choices and seasonal river flows create variations.

The experience on the river; it's in all of us still, and will

be forever. This I know!! Something else I can't explain is that I have such an inner peace when I close my eyes and revert back to the river. It's wonderful, nothing I have ever done has had the same effect.
